Four practices, designed to bridge strategy & software.

Ashton reads the technology and AI ecosystem clearly, then builds the program to get you there. Most engagements blend two or more of the practices below.

Each practice draws from twenty years of work at the intersection of strategy and software — enterprise AI strategy, vendor diligence, software M&A, and operating program leadership. Most engagements blend two or more of the practices below.

PRACTICE 01

Ashton | Strategy

Flexible projects anchored to defined business success goals. Strategy engagements range from special executive projects to enterprise AI strategy, GTM, and roadmap development.

// AVAILABLE AS Sprint Fractional
  • Enterprise AI strategy, readiness & roadmap
  • Strategic sales, marketing & GTM initiatives
  • Special executive & event-driven projects
  • Technology prioritization & investment planning
  • Business roadmap & operating plan

Best fit when…

  1. A time-bound decision needs an independent read
  2. Strategy must land with operators, not just the board
  3. AI & tech scope is unclear or contested
PRACTICE 02

Ashton | Insights

Market expertise across leading technology providers, system integration partners, and customer success best practices. Diligence and benchmarking that ensures investments are made with eyes open.

// AVAILABLE AS Sprint Fractional
  • Software vendor diligence & ROI cases
  • AI market assessments & readiness
  • SI / consulting-partner scorecard & selection
  • Competitive & peer benchmarking
  • Pricing & GTM strategy intelligence

Best fit when…

  1. A new platform — Salesforce, AI, CX, analytics — is under consideration
  2. Vendor or SI selection needs an independent scorecard
  3. The ROI case must survive Finance, IT, and Board scrutiny
PRACTICE 03

Ashton | M&A

Day-1 readiness and time-sensitive merger & divestiture support — for software, sales, services, and customer success organizations. Pre-deal through post-close execution.

// AVAILABLE AS Sprint Fractional
  • Org, people & change readiness
  • Business process redesign for M&A activity
  • GTM readiness across sales, marketing & product
  • Legal TSA best practices for tech carve-outs
  • Knowledge transfer into steady-state org

Best fit when…

  1. A software carve-out or integration is on a tight clock
  2. People, org, and Day-1 customer readiness is the gating risk
  3. TSA scope and knowledge transfer need senior oversight
PRACTICE 04

Ashton | Operate

Operational projects driven by key business events. The unglamorous discipline that turns strategy into outcome — including the AI rollouts most institutions privately struggle with.

// AVAILABLE AS Sprint Fractional
  • Sales enablement & marketing operations
  • Program leadership for digital transformation
  • AI program development, deployment & governance
  • AI adoption & change management
  • Customer service operations & CS leadership

Best fit when…

  1. An AI rollout is real, but adoption is the unsolved problem
  2. Sales enablement or CS ops is the bottleneck on commercial outcomes
  3. Senior program leadership is needed — without an SI overlay

Ashton | Ventures.

Angel, seed, and operating assistance for founders building the AI-workplace.

Brandon Ashton Stein, principal of Ashton | Ventures
LED PERSONALLY BY Brandon Ashton Stein Founder · Operator-investor

For founders building practical AI tools in the workplace.

Capital is small-check; the operating assistance is where Brandon adds disproportionate value — go-to-market, customer narrative, early enterprise selling, and CS operating model.

03 / Frequently askedFAQ

Practical questions, candid answers.

Are you a one-person shop?

Today, yes. Ashton Advisors is principal-led — Brandon does the work. When an engagement requires deeper bench, Ashton brings in named specialists from a curated network — design and creative, technical implementation, change-management SMEs, and industry-specific operators. Transparent attribution. No referral fees, no commission layer.

What kinds of clients do you typically work with?

Tech-enabled businesses across Energy, Software, Finance, and Services — with a deep M&A overlay. Brandon's work spans Fortune 100s, mid-market platforms, PE portfolio companies, and venture-backed software firms.

Are you tied to any vendor?

No. Ashton is independent — no referral fees, no commissions, no platform tie-ins. Ashton will tell you when a vendor is the wrong fit — even if you've already paid for it.

What partnerships and platforms do you work across?

Ashton is independent and non-partisan — no resold software, no platform tie-ins — but operates fluently across Salesforce, Microsoft, Adobe, and the leading LLM stacks (OpenAI, Anthropic). Ashton doesn't resell, integrate, or implement for any of them. The depth lets the practice pressure-test vendor and platform decisions on your behalf — that's what you're hiring.

Will you sign confidentiality before initial conversations?

Yes — mutual NDA is the default before any substantive discussion of an engagement.

Do you take referrals?

Referrals are the front door — and how the strongest engagements begin. If a need sits outside the practice's focus, Ashton will say so and connect you with someone better suited. Reciprocity matters; the same care extends to every introduction made.

Where are you based?

Houston, Texas. Ashton works with clients across the U.S. and select international engagements via secure remote and on-site cadence.
